Diagnostic wax up
The diagnostic wax-up is part of the heart of diagnostic in aesthetic-reconstructive dentistry. It gives insight into the expected outcome after the initial therapy and the consequential therapy plan.
It is a wax model of the future situatuion that is expected and at the same time it is the starting point of a number of procedures that need to be completed such as provisonals, templates (drilling-, preparation-, moulding-, etc.), etc. For this reason this needs to be done with high quality and precision and is the start of the "production", even though the decision to undergo the treatment has not been made yet.
