Prostheses

There are partial and full prostheses. When all teeth are lost, a full removable prothesis is one way often the only way to replace the teeth. If someone never had a removable prosthesis of any form prior to loosing all there teeth, especially the older the person is, it is often difficult to get used to them, but moreso in the the lower jaw than in the upper jaw.
They are usually made of plastic, somtimes they are reinforced with metal, especially if it is a partial prosthesis. A basic prosthesis is the cheapest way to replace missing teeth. A full prosthesis is supportet by the gums. A partial prosthesis is supported by the gums and in addition to that are also retained by clasps around some teeth. More advanced forms are telescopic crown prostheses or an implant supportet prosthesis (removable or fixed).
