Surgical therapy

During the surgical procedure the dentist removes the gum form the bone, so that the bacterial build-up can be removed from the root surfaces under direct vision. This is the more invasive procedure.

This procedure is paid to a large extend by the public health insurance, however, it is associated with risks in regards to aesthetics.
