Restoration techniques
At the first appointment the widened and clean root canals are filled with cement like material and gutta percha points (natural elastic material). One by one they are pressed/condensed against the “lateral†wall of the root canal to create space for further gutta percha points until the canal is filled homogenously (lateral condensation). Or the filling is made of a biocompatible tip that is coated with gutta percha, an elastic material. This gutta percha point is heated and becomes runny. Now it can spread into the entire root canal system, even into the fine side canals (“Thermafil techniqueâ€).
