Orthopantomogram OPG

Digital single tooth x-rays (periapical radiographs/bitewings) - Zahnarzt Darmstadt Dr. Kristin Endres MSc

We also use the digital technology for single tooth radiographs. Instead of a film that is exposed by the x-rays and then developed, a special sensor is used for digital radiography. This sensor converts the x-rays into digital signals.

These are then processed by the computer and appear as an image on the screen almost immediately, ready for interpretation. The radiation for the patient is reduced to up to 90 percent.

Panoramic radiograph OPG

We can take digital single tooth x-rays such as periapical radiographs and bitewings as well as 2D panoramic radiographs  in our surgery in Darmstadt. We also have the technology to take digital three-dimensional radiographs with our cone-beam CT. This allows for a quicker diagnosis, better communication with referring colleagues and most of all the reduction of radiation of up to 90%.

Due to the digital technology, we don't have to use checmicals for the x-ray development that are harmful to the environment!

We use cone-beam computertomograthy (Cone-beam CT) in out surgery.

Cone-beam computertomography is a three-dimensional dental CT image, also referred to as 3D radiography/imaging.We use the CB-CT predominantly for the planning of surgeries - eg. the removal of retained and impacted wisdom teeth and the placement of dental implants. This diagnostic tool enables us to plan the procedures with high precision that was prviously unheard of!

Digital radiography

Digital periapical radiographys/bitewings, panoramic radiograph/OPG (2D) and digital cone-beam computertomography (CBCT)

We can take digital periapical/bitewing radiographs as well as digital panoramic x-rays/OPGs and three-dimensional cone-beam computer tomographies (CB CT) in our surgery in Darmstadt. The defining advantages are a faster diagnosis, better communication with referring colleagues and the reduction of the radiation of up to 90%.
The precision of such radiographs with a tolerable radiation has increased considerably with the introduction of digital systems. With such techniques it is possible to make a clear diagnosis about oral structures that are otherwise invisible, in particular about bone and to some extend cartilage as well as the position and dimension of neighbouring structures such as nerve canals, sinuses and jaw joints.
